26, May 2016: By the mode of ride, Airwheel electric self-balancing scooters can fall into three categories—the stand-on mode, the sit-on mode and the dual mode of ride. The stand-on mode is the basic and primitive mode. When Airwheel pushed out its X-series, it meant that the stand-on mode of ride saw the light of the day. In the last two years, the stand-on mode of ride played an important role in the whole market. In a sense, it predominated in the then market. Until the advent of sit-on mode of ride, the situation changed.

Airwheel used the stand-on mode for the reason that Airwheel aimed to make something of itself by making a big splash in the common model, i.e. the single-wheeled self-balancing scooter X-series. Airwheel X-series is the most representative model of stand-on mode of ride. The subsequent models of Q-series also followed the same mode of ride. And even the first three models of two-wheeled self-balancing scooter S-series conformed to this mode. This was a trend in the then market. The stand-on offers a better view on the electric self-balancing scooter so that the rider can see clearly and keep away from the obstacle. That explains why the stand-on mode of ride still exists in some models.
When Airwheel accommodated the comfort of ride, it developed its first model of sit-on mode of ride. This was Airwheel two-wheeled self-balancing scooter A3. A3 pioneered the sit-on mode of ride, which provides the rider with a comfortable ride. Once he feels exhausted by a long trip, the rider gains access to the saddle. He could sit on the saddle for a ride without any fatigue.
The sit-on mode of ride is applied to Airwheel electric scooters at the expense of the stand-on mode of ride. Airwheel made a creative decision, merging the sit-on and the stand-on mode of ride. Airwheel S8 integrates the two modes of ride.
