Quality ‚Made in Germany‘: tde presents new video

Network specialist provides insights into the production of fiber optic cables

Dortmund/Germany, 4 February 2025. The products of tde – trans data elektronik GmbH symbolise top quality „Made in Germany“. In a new video, the network specialist shows how fiber optic applications are manufactured at the ultra-modern production site in Lower Saxony and how many individual steps are required to turn individual high-quality components into a finished patch cord or trunk cable.

For over 30 years, tde has been manufacturing network components for passive network infrastructure exclusively in Ohrte in the district of Osnabrück in Lower Saxony, Germany. The production site there is one of the most modern fiber optic production facilities in Europe. Nothing is left to chance here: Highly qualified employees and state-of-the-art machines and processes ensure the highest quality and shortest delivery times. To illustrate how these complex products are manufactured, tde has produced a video on site that follows the creation of a fiber optic cable step by step – from the required cable length to bonding, cleaving and polishing through to strict quality control.

„“Made in Germany“ is an important part of our philosophy. It ensures that our customers can always rely on 100 per cent quality. In our industry, this is absolutely crucial,“ says Andre Engel, Managing Director of tde. „The new video provides transparency, visualises the processes and conveys very clearly how much care we take every day to fulfil this promise.“ The video can be viewed on YouTube at the following link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7aY3qOTDrxI

High-quality components for top quality

tde manufactures fiber optic applications for highest demands – from series production to individual production according to manufacturer or customer specifications. On the production lines, fiber optic patch cords and trunk cables are manufactured in a wide variety of configurations in perfect interaction between machines that are always state-of-the-art and employees who carry out every step with absolute accuracy. The precision required to glue the fibers into the ferrule, for example, can be clearly seen in the video.

tde’s product range covers almost the entire spectrum of connectors available on the market. Only the highest quality components are used in production to ensure consistent top quality. All employees are qualified and have extensive experience in working with specialised technical equipment such as laser cleaners, bonding robots and state-of-the-art measurement technology. To ensure that only absolutely flawless products find their way to the customer, every single cable application undergoes a 100 per cent test procedure in the form of interferometer measurements, insertion and return loss measurements and a visual final inspection.

For more than 30 years the tde – trans data elektronik GmbH, an internationally successful company, has specialised in the development and production of scalable cabling systems for highest packing density. In addition, the nuclear research centre CERN relies on the know-how of the leading company in multi-fiber technics (MPO). The company’s portfolio „Made in Germany“ contains complete system solutions with a focus on Plug-and-play for high-speed applications in fields such as datacom, telecom, industry, medical and defence. tde offers both planning and installation services through its own service department and supports the „European Code of Conduct“ when it comes to energy efficiency in data centres.
